Great Glen Challenge (On Water)
The water-borne version of The Great Glen Challenge takes place in September and sees competitors paddling a whole range of self-propelled craft, such as canoes, kayaks and paddleboards along the length of The Great Glen, from Fort William to Inverness, completing the 57 mile journey either non-stop, or over two days, depending on their preference.
The route takes entrants along the Caledonian Canal and the full length of three separate lochs (Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness) passing by Invermoriston shortly after the overnight stopping point at Fort Augustus.
